Business Development Manager
About the Role
The ideal candidate will lead initiatives to generate and engage with business partners to build new business for the company. This candidate will be focused and have strong communication skills. They should be able to think critically when making plans and have a demonstrated ability to execute a particular strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue
- Analyze Indonesia’s indie game ecosystem, including local studios, associations (e.g. AGI, IGDX), government-supported initiatives (like Baparekraf, Gamescom participation), and potential B2B partners, to identify monetization opportunities.
- Design and oversee revenue-generating models: in-game top ups, denomination strategies, DLC, or spin‑off licensing.
- Build strategic partnerships with local/international indie studios, game associations, government agencies, and distributors.
- Pitch revenue and collaboration proposals, negotiate deals, and close partnerships with B2B clients.
- Represent the company at industry events (local and global), lead business meetings, and source new monetizable opportunities.
- Build and sustain a cohesive community network: indie developers, players, industry stakeholders, and government touchpoints.
- Act as Dream Forge’s ambassador across platforms, forums, conferences, linking global trends and best practices back to Indonesia’s game ecosystem scene.
- Facilitate feedback loops between developers, players, and the Dream Forge team for continuous product refinement.
Strategic Leadership & Reporting
- Regularly analyze ecosystem trends and community growth metrics to inform strategy.
- Establish KPIs around new revenue streams, community engagement, partnership output, and developer outreach.
- Provide structured monthly reports, including insights, progress updates, and strategy recommendations. This position will be directly to the Country Manager.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to align community and monetization goals with overall company objectives.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in the game industry, with measurable success in business development, community management, or monetization roles.
- International exposure, experience working with overseas studios, attending international game expos, or managing cross-border partnerships.
- A strong network within Indonesia’s indie game landscape: studios, associations, events, and government creative economy programs.
- Deep understanding of Indonesia’s game ecosystem—its strengths, gaps, and ecosystem dynamics.
- Proven track record building in‑game monetization models (e.g., top-ups, denom systems, DLC, and licensing).
- Excellent English communication skills (written & spoken) to interface with global partners.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Jakarta; comfortable working on-site.
