Quality Assurance Specialist (Mandarin Speaker)
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and passionate QA Specialist to join our game development team. The QA Specialist will be responsible for testing our games to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and user experience. This role involves identifying bugs, inconsistencies, and areas of improvement in gameplay, UI, audio, and other game elements across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute manual and automated testing of game builds across multiple devices and platforms (e.g., mobile, PC, console).
- Maintain a high level of test coverage across all features and game systems.
- Identify, document, and track bugs using issue-tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Clickup).
- Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and producers to reproduce and isolate bugs.
- Perform regression, smoke, and sanity testing as part of release cycles.
- Ensure all game features are functioning as intended and meet design specifications.
- Validate game balance, UI flow, and localization across regions.
- Write clear and concise test cases, checklists, and QA documentation.
- Provide feedback from the player's perspective to improve the overall game experience.
- Assist in compliance and certification processes when applicable (e.g., platform-specific requirements).
- Provide detailed and actionable feedback on gameplay, UI/UX, and system behavior.
Requirements:
- Fluent in Mandarin (both spoken and written), minimum HSK 4 or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in game QA testing (mobile, PC, or console).
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with bug-tracking and test management tools.
- Basic understanding of game development processes and pipelines.
- Familiarity with Unity engine and version control tools.
- Ability to write and follow detailed test cases and report bugs clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Passion for gaming and a solid understanding of different game genres and platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automated testing tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
- Knowledge of Unity, Unreal Engine, or other game engines.
- Knowledge of asset bundle workflows and runtime content delivery.
- Exposure to localization QA and multi-language testing.
