About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile Senior Game Artist to lead the visual direction and production quality of our mobile titles. You will create polished, game-ready assets—from concept to in-engine integration—while driving artistic consistency, performance optimization, and visual clarity across the entire project.

You’ll work closely with designers, engineers, product teams, and overseas counterparts, ensuring that every asset serves gameplay, supports the player experience, and matches the creative vision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end asset creation for mobile games, including 2D/3D characters, environments, props, UI/UX, icons, VFX, and animations.
  • Produce high-fidelity concept art, visual explorations, color scripts, and mood boards for new features or game pitches.
  • Build and maintain art style guides, documentation, asset databases, and pipeline specifications.
  • Work closely with designers and engineers to ensure technical feasibility, shader/material compatibility, and smooth integration into Unity.
  • Review and direct work from overseas teams, external vendors, and outsourcing partners, ensuring consistent visual quality.
  • Optimize textures, meshes, rigs, animations, atlases, draw calls, and memory usage for a wide range of mobile devices.
  • Collaborate in playtests, user research, and usability reviews, adjusting visuals based on player feedback and game design needs.
  • Manage timelines, asset schedules, and sprint commitments, ensuring on-time delivery with predictable quality.
  • Troubleshoot art-pipeline issues, fix integration bugs, and support the team in maintaining technical stability.
  • Provide mentorship to mid/junior artists when needed, especially on workflow, visual consistency, and mobile optimization best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Animation, Visual Communication, Game Development, or related fields.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Game Artist/Concept Artist/2D-3D Artist in game studios, preferably with experience in a global or multinational game company.
  • Strong portfolio showing production-ready assets, solid fundamentals (anatomy, color, lighting, composition), and mobile-appropriate optimization.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools:
  • Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Illustrator
  • Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max
  • Spine/DragonBones, Unity asset pipeline
  • Figma or other UI prototyping tools
  • Deep understanding of Unity asset workflows: textures, shaders, materials, rigging, prefabs, animation clips, UI layouts, and sprite atlases.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile game performance constraints, including polycount budgets, texture compression, batching, memory limits, and LOD systems.
  • Experience using version control (Git, PlasticSCM) and working in Agile/sprint-based pipelines.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal), able to collaborate with cross-regional and cross-cultural teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple workstreams independently.

Preferred

  • Experience in simulation, RPG, strategy, casual, or hybrid-casual game genres.
  • Understanding of market visual trends in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
  • Familiarity with VFX, particle systems, shader graphs, technical art, or procedural tools.
  • Knowledge of localization workflows for art assets.
  • Strong background collaborating with distributed/global teams and managing outsourcing pipelines.
